TITLE
Coordinator of Intramural Sports & Camps (#100516)
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Full-time professional exempt staff position with full benefits. The Coordinator of Intramural Sports & Camps has major responsibility for assisting with administration of the intramural sports and officials development programs during the academic year. In the summer (July through mid-August), this position has major responsibility for supervising the summer day camp program and staff. Specific responsibilities include: managing payroll and scheduling for 175 intramural officials, supervisors, and facility staff; assisting with training and supervision of intramural sports officials and supervisors; assisting with planning and administration of intramural sports tournaments and events; hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of summer camp staff; assisting with planning and organization of summer day camp program; and teaching employee safety courses as needed. Some evening and weekend work is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have, as a minimum: a Bachelor’s degree, two (2) years experience working in a collegiate/community recreation environment, some experience administering sports tournaments and/or experience working with children ages 6-12, strong communication and customer service skills, demonstrated organizational skills, ability to work with web-based and Windows applications. Preferred: Master’s degree, experience supervising others, experience as a summer camp counselor or administrator, experience with IM Track or web/database applications. The successful candidate must be willing to submit to fingerprinting and a criminal background check.
START DATE
August 1, 2008, preferred.
SALARY
Commensurate with education and experience, the range is $40,000 - $45,000.

TITLE
Manager of Pool Operations (#100520)
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Full-time professional exempt staff position with full benefits. The Manager of Pool Operations has major responsibility for operation and maintenance of a multi-use aquatic facility; including water chemistry, mechanical systems and components, and pool equipment. Specific responsibilities include: recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and develop 25 student pool operators; implement risk management policies and procedures for aquatics facilities; assist in the evaluation of aquatic center policies and the purchase of aquatic facility equipment; manage a budget for aquatic facilities; teach kinesiology swimming classes. Some evening and weekend work is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have, as a minimum: a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Physical Education, or related field and one (1) year of full-time experience as a certified pool operator at a campus/commercial/public pool; demonstrated supervisory skills; ability to teach swimming classes; strong interpersonal communication skills; and Certified Pool Operators license. Preferred: American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor and Water Safety Instructor certifications.
START DATE
June 1, 2008, preferred.
SALARY
Commensurate with education and experience, the range is $42,000-$48,000.

TITLE
Coordinator of Facilities (#100533)
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Twelve-month professional exempt staff position with full benefits. The Coordinator of Facilities is responsible for managing student facility employees and assisting with operation and maintenance of north campus recreation facilities. Specific responsibilities include: hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising approximately 100 student facility staff and supervisors; managing the equipment issue service, which includes purchasing, billing, and inventory management; managing incidents of participant misbehavior; assisting with the coordination of north campus facility events and facility maintenance; teaching American Red Cross CPR and First Aid courses. Some evening and weekend work is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have as a minimum: a Bachelor’s degree, 2 years experience supervising employees, experience working in a community/collegiate recreation or student services environment, experience training and developing employees, strong communication and customer service skills. Preferred: a Master’s degree, experience working with college students, certification as an American Red Cross CPR/First Aid Instructor.
